Howden Town Forum.
The school is committed to support the work of the Howden Town Forum to replace the former mural which used to occupy a prime position in the centre of town.

Pupils from Riverside Special School make use of the Design and Technology facilities on a regular basis.

Primary schools in the catchment area benefit from equipment and technical support in ICT and use the school's technology & sports facilities.
- Old computers have been donated to the I.T. For Africa Charity.
Family Learning
Every school term a family learning event takes place. These last for between four and six weeks for a two-hour evening session. A pupil and adult family member learn side by side. Sometimes the course is specific to a year group in the school.
